I am passionate about working with British artists, and couldn’t be more delighted to introduce you to our latest collaboration with my (almost namesake) Susannah Garrod.
Susannah is a British artist and illustrator of fashion and beauty. She is inspired by all things decorative and uses her signature loose line style to interpret whimsical visions of a bygone era. When I first came across her work, I fell in love instantly. Her art evokes the feelings of vintage illustrations and when I saw her bow design on paper, I knew it would translate beautifully into the most wonderful textiles, and then into romantic vintage inspired silhouttes.

I join a long list of admirers. Susannah has illustrated for many leading brands including British Vogue, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Matches and Claridge’s. And now I am proud to say Suzannah London is added to this illustrious list.
My love of Susannah’s work turned out to be the perfect meeting of creative minds, and our collaboration has manifested in a beautiful fresh, printed silk shirt and romantic silk dress. Susannah’s loose line bows are translated onto cloth by our talented in-house team, and then digitally printed onto the softest pure silk.
The Tilda Bows silk blouse features the bow print, with a nude ivory base, black artwork and contrasting black silk covered buttons. A neat mandarin collar and button placket keep the design chic and simple. This clean design allows Susannah's beautiful bow print to shine. A detachable scarf tie can be tied in a pussy bow or whichever way you like. The Tilda blouse is perfectly styled with simple tailored black slim leg pants.
The Gemma Bows silk midi dress features the same fabulous bow print in a nude ivory and soft black palette. It has a neat fitted bodice and a line skirt with pockets in the side seams. The neckline has a central soft black silk bow and ribbon as a border feature to frame this perfect silhouette. There is a centre back zip, and a shirred panel at the back waist allows for easy movement. The feminine full sleeves are finished with a deep shirred cuff. I would style Gemma with boots or ballet flats for a simple look, or for a special event I would elevate with chic millinery. I used Susannah herself as my muse for the Gemma Bows dress. She completely embodies her love of beauty, fashion, art and all things vintage. She is fun, girly and absolutely charming company.
